Nestling amongst the chi-chi facades of Mayfair,
underneath global behemoth, The Hard Rock Café, CORE is home to
not just the future sound of London, but the moves and grooves of
the moment. Kicking against the trend for stark, Swedish style exteriors,
the understated entrance can easily be missed and gives no indication
of the subterranean sound palace beyond it. CORE is one of a few
venues in London where you can chill and experience eclectic live
music and cutting edge DJs every night of the week.
Situated opposite the Met Bar, CORE is located at
150 Old Park Lane, London, W1. The décor inside is late seventies
glam including a Disco 2000-style dance-floor with moveable stage
reminiscent of Joan Collins' film classic 'The Stud'. With a capacity
of 200, CORE will open fully at the end of July and looks to cement
its position at the very heart of the London music scene. To celebrate
the launch of the venue, they are running the Core Music Festival.
The Festival will take place from July 24th - 31st.
Artists already confirmed to perform live at the festival include
South (pictured above), Rialto, Dirty Vegas, Crazy Penis, Grand
Union, Bridge & Tunnel, Jon Hopkins and Marissa Anglin. DJ sets
are also confirmed from The Avalanches, Jon Carter (pictured left),
Ross Allen, Medicine, Dot Allison, Mavenalli Project, Kelvin Andrews
and Harvey, who will be celebrating his birthday with a Saturday
night party at CORE and a very special 4-hour DJ set.
The weeklong CORE Music Festival aims to promote
up-and-coming new music with cross-genre appeal.
